The composite offers a pathway to separate charge carriers by suppressing their recombination. Commonly, a maximum performance is observed when the foreign oxide is around 5-7 % mol in the composite, leading to a controversy about why at a higher ratio in the photocatalytic activity. To understand this behavior and the processes involved in the separation of the charge carriers in this research, 3 systems ZnO@TiO2, SnO2@TiO2 and WO3@TiO2 were synthesized structures core@shell by sol-gel method, previously synthesized nanoparticles of core(ZnO, SnO2 and WO3) and titanium isopropoxide as precursors that allow the core during formation of TiO2 (shell), creating direct contact between the core and the shell. A detailed description of the physicochemical and electrochemical characterization of multicore(ZnO, SnO2 and WO3)@shell(TiO2) structures with different core:TiO2 molar ratio (01:99, 03:97, 06:94, 12:88 and 20:80), allowed to explain this behavior, which is related to the interaction between the core-shell, generating energy states at the interface. These acts as electron traps during the photocatalytic process favor the separation of the charge carriers. In 6% mol these energy states are in an optimal concentration for all three systems, where Nd is maximum or minimum. Similarly, the positions of the bands conduction and valence are of great importance for the process of charge transfer, improving separation of the charge carriers when a good coupling between them.; El acoplamiento del TiO2 con diferentes óxidos es una estrategia eficiente, empleada para incrementar la actividad fotocatalítica del TiO2. %G spa %[ 2023-12-18 %9 info:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesis %~ UAM %W UAM
