The Instituto Nacional de Cancerolog´ıa (INCan) within its facilities, has a hybrid single-photon emission computed tomography equipment with a conventional computed tomography, better known as SPECT/CT, Symbia model Siemens brand, which is used every day as diagnostic tool, staging and monitoring of treatments, with different radionuclides. To keep the equipment in the best conditions, it is necessary to know the equipment, in terms of its possibilities and limitations for each radionuclide used, which in turn helps to obtain the best possible quality images. INCan is one of the few centers that perform therapies with Lu-177, for some types of prostate cancer and neuroendrocine tumors. In these therapies, after their administration, the patients are followed up in SPECT. Therefore, this work characterizes the Siemens Symbia model SPECT with 177Lu, and in a complementary way with 99mTc. In addition, a method was proposed, with the evaluation of a first validation and reference values which can be used in different centers that have the same equipment. The proposed method guarantees reliable results and it was shown that, to obtain a complete validation, it is only necessary to repeat this methodology by other operators in different centers with the same equipment and in turn, this protocol can be used as a standardization to perform the characterization of SPECT systems in Mexico with the same model for its use with 177Lu and 99mTc.; El Instituto Nacional de Cancerología, (INCan) dentro de sus instalaciones, cuenta con un equipo híbrido SPECT/CT, modelo Symbia marca Siemens, el cual se utiliza como herramienta de diagnóstico, estadificación y seguimiento de tratamientos, con distintos radionúclidos. %G spa %[ 2023-11-30 %9 Especializacion %~ UAM %W UAM
